On July 26, 2025, Wei Shijun, Director of the China-Africa Friendship Economic and Trade Development Working Committee, led a working team to pay a courtesy call on H.E. Jean Louis Robinson, Ambassador of Madagascar to China. Ambassador Robinson and his team warmly received the visiting delegation.

During the exchange, Director Wei Shijun introduced the China-Africa Friendship Economic and Trade Development Working Committee’s efforts in advancing China-Africa cooperation in recent years. He also conducted in-depth discussions with the embassy team, focusing on cooperation opportunities in such areas as Madagascar’s agricultural development, industrial park investment and construction, and port investment. The two sides exchanged views on topics including complementary resource advantages, optimization of the investment environment, and innovation in cooperation models, and explored directions for practical cooperation in the future.
Ambassador Robinson expressed appreciation for the Committee’s efforts in promoting economic and trade cooperation between China and Madagascar. He emphasized that Madagascar attaches great importance to cooperation with China in fields like agriculture, infrastructure construction, and industrial development, and welcomes more Chinese enterprises and institutions to actively participate in Madagascar’s development and construction.

This meeting further enhanced mutual understanding and trust between the two sides, laying a solid foundation for advancing cooperation between China and Madagascar in key areas such as agriculture, industrial parks, and port construction in the future.
